What type of door? Fiberglass, wood, or steel. Labor alone is usually between $250-400 for a basic door installation without paintwork. Then there is the cost of the door and handle/lockset as well as dump fees (price varying by area) if you want the old unit hauled off and about $10-15 worth of other supplies.

Todd's installation number undoubtedly means for a same-size replacement door - if you are replacing a normal 36" door with a full door with twin sidelights unit with overhead transom, or with a double french door, for instance, installation and materials can go up 1-1/2 or even 2 times those numbers, as much larger door units commonly involve moving or reinforcing structural members, moving electrical swtiches and wiring, etc.

Definitely framing work would add significantly to the cost. Well more than double. I assumed replacement, not reframing and minor remodeling for enlargement or a different configuration.
