How good is Behr Deckover or Olympic restore deck finish?

My deck is looking old. Has some small cracks, but no rotted wood. I want to cover it and seal it but don't want to sand it "FOREVER"!

From personal experience and what I have heard from people who have used it, I would say forget about Behr deck and stain products - course, I don't like their paints either, so I am not biased - I just have no respect for Behr products. I like Olympic deck and stain products though I have never used Restore, but I have never had bad luck with their products as long as you let them THOROUGHLY dry (and I mean 4-7 days for warm, sunny, drying weather) before recoating. The only Olympic problems I have seen are recoating before totally dry leaves the undercoat uncured and it makes the upper coat gummy - sometimes forever,,so it feels like it has been heavily linseed oiled.

I used the Restore product on my wood deck (quite large). The product looks beautful upon application. Nice to the touch and easy to walk on. Unfortunately, I ran into some major peeling issues after this last brutal winter (Michigan). The representative at Olympic said that 3 coats should have been recommended instead of 2, and it needs to go on thick. They were good enough to refund my money and give me complimentary product to repair the damaged areas. Great customer service, but we will see how the product performs after this next winter. I'm not redoing it a third time.

My advice; if you use the product, put it on thick!

i used deck over paint from behr and I am not happy. any type of stain like mud prints,

animal prints or any type of stain does not wash off.behr recommends to buy their

deck over cleaner or seal it with one of there sealers.

i wished I never painted my deck with this product.
