How good are Carrier Infinity Heat Pump Systems? Do they have many breakdowns? How is warranty?

I'm interested in a Carrier Heat Pump. I've been given three choices, Carrier Single Speed 2 ton 14 Seer, Carrier Infinity 2-Stage 3 ton w/variable speed 16 Seer, Carrier Green Speed variable speed 3 ton 19 Seer. My ranch house is 1500 sq. ft. I am replacing a 20 year old Bryant Heat Pump that is leaking. I'm replacing the entire system. When I read articles online about heatpumps, I get confused. I read bad reports about Carrier but also good reports. Is Carrier a good brand or do they have a lot of warranty issues? Does Carrier back their products and do they have good customer service? Could anyone give me advice?

Carrier is a great product, and Greenspeed has proven to be the most reliable residential unit they have ever built. We have installed over a hundred of them.

Your experience with Carrier or any brand system, will be based largely on the HVAC Contractor that installs and services it. Also the quality of the wholesale distributor the contractor buys from and deals with. The manufacturer depends on them to provide the hands on customer service, and proper installation and application.

That said, our company has been selling Carrier for over 30 thirty years and we have have a great distributor , here in Florida.

Wondering, if you can use a 2 ton single speed, why not a 2 ton two speed or greenspeed?
