How do get a home improvement company to come back and finish a final roof inspection?

In May, I had my roof inspected and was told I had 20-25 shingles missing and since the house is almost 20 years old, it was advised to get a new roof. I was told that I probably had an insurance claim. I did some research and choose a local home improvement company. The VP came, inspected the roof, walked me through the process and worked with the insurance adjuster to document what exactly was needed to obtain and install a new roof. On Memorial Day, the crew installed the new roof. Since then, the VP has promised to come back and do the final roof inspection and provide the final paperwork for my files. He's texted and emailed me when he will be out and he has not come out yet. In the meantime, I sent the final insurance payment because he said he was busy and would let me know when he could come. Last week I emailed him and no response. I called the main office and left a message and no response. So I don't have the final pictures of the roof or the paperwork. What to do?

Dear Guest, what your dealing with is normal for "storm" roofing companies. Luckily you at least got your roof finished. I would contact the insurance company and tell them not to release funds to that contractor until he keeps up his end. If they already did. Then I would hound the contractor and submit bad reviews on review sites until he finishes his end.

Sorry you are dealing with this, and I am making light of what you are dealing with. It is frustrating, but hopefully you can feel a little better knowing that in the grand scheme, your problem is minor compared to many of the ones we respond to on this site.
