Question DetailsAsked on 11/4/2013

How much will it take to install a gas line to the kitchen and convert the electric stove to Gas?

The Atmos gas meter is a few yards outside the house.
It should be a short gas pipe to connect to the stove area through the outer wall.
We are looking for an estimate to install a gas line and convert the electric stove to a gas stove.
We'll be buying the gas stove and oven unit.

You want a plumber for that - Search the List (in green banner bar) for local plumbers, and their ratings and reviews.

Cost depends a lot on accessibility for running the pipe - obviously cheaper and less (or no) repair needed if can be run through exposed overhead floor joists in a crawlspace or basement, most expensive if have to cut into walls and ceilings. Sometimes running a branch line on the outside of the house (though a bit unsightly) can avoid some of the installation expense. Typical cost for an easy install about $250-350 range, but I have seen them run $1000 and more after all drywall repair and repainting is done.
