How much does installing laundry standpipe and trap cost ?

We have a one storey home and the washer-dryer is in the garage. Currently we have a standpipe which is not an approved 2 inch diameter. Need to install a 2 inch diameter laundry standpipe along with a drain trap.

IF the entire standpipe is exposed (or in drywalled wall) to where it connects into the sewer stack AND the sewer stack connection is at least 2 inch, then probably about $150-200 for a plumber to replumb it with 2" or larger (some modern machines need larger, so go with 2-1/2 or even 3 inch if you reasonably can). Not including the couple of hundred to several hundred for a handyman or a drywall contractor and then a painter to come and repair the wall, if it runs in a wall. And if the stack connection is not as large as the standpipe that will be going into it so the wye needs to be replaced, or if the connection is too high then another $100-200 typically depending on whether plastic or metal pipe and accessibility to replace/relocate the wye connection.

If the standpipe connects into the sewer pipe under a concrete slab, then add at least $250 and maybe as much as $500 or more ADDITIONAL depending on access and depth to sewer pipe (usually only a foot or two under slab, but not always.

Also - one other thing - if the washer and dryer are not elevated on platforms at least 18" above the floor, that will have to be done to meet code as well.
