I believe you receive an eMail when the question is first posted on the site, with a link to the question.

Each time an answer (including any additional info or followup discussion posted by you using the Answer This Question button) is posted to your question, you should receive an eMail stating a new answer your question has been posted - there will be a link to your question and answer in that eMail.

Another way, if the question is recent, is to click on the Browse All Questions yellow button below the green banner bar, use the pulldown menu at the right side to choose Sort By Most Recent, then work through the questions to find yours (shown in reverse chrono order), and it will show how many answers there are - click on the question to see them.

For older questions, you can also click on the applicable subject in Browse Projects at lower left, and then sort by most recent and peruse to find your question.

I could have sworn there was also a way to see all your past questions in Account, but I don't see it. Guess you will have to contact member care if you want to find out if you can see your prior questions that way.

As for how long it takes - questions appear pretty quickly - generally within hours, I believe, and probably most within just a couple of minutes. Answer time depends on several things - if it is a membership or AL benefits or Deals question, then AL customer service reps skim the questions and pick off membership or how to use AL questions to answer - typically the same day if posted in the first half of a weekday. Otherwise, it depends on the question and which members or other contributors take a fancy to answering the question. Some attract a half dozen responses within hours, especially the more interesting or technically challenging building trades related ones - others take days to be answered by whoever feels they have the time to spend and can answer them meaningfully, some sit unanswered orever. Basically, if you do not get an answer within 3-4 weekdays, I would assume it will not be answered and ask again. Commonly unanswered ones are either asking for comments on specific products or companies who most responders know nothing about, or are too generic or don't provide enough details to be easy to answer meaningfully.

Remember this is not a chapter-specific forum - it is nationwide, so give enough general locale info to allow for area-specific responses.

I am not sure why no answer, but at times a question may be difficult to understand by either the way it was worded or even spelling errors. I myself have problems with the spelling on Angies as for so reason my spell check will not work here. You might try looking at your question posted and see if it is worded properly so all that try to help here can understand the question. It could also be as LCD said it is not a question that those that help have the answer for or may be too limited to a certain region of the country.

Hi, this is Meranda with Angie's List.

It looks like you submitted a question about locksmith pricing 6 minutes before this question. This is a free forum that relies on community members' to share their knowledge, not a search on the List. It can sometimes take a day or so for someone with knowledge of your topic to come and respond to your question. In this case, it looks like LCD answered your question this morning.

You can always search at to see if others have asked similar questions. You can "Browse All Questions" or you can use the categories on the side of the page to look in the category you're interested in, such as locksmiths.

If you're looking for a locksmith, however, you can join Angie's List with the promo code ANSWERS to save 20% off an annual membership.
