How long after painting a room should you wait to clean the carpet?

I would wait (assuming goodhouse ventilation and not extremely high interior humidity) 3 days for oil, 7 for latex/acrylic. May not need that much, but why risk paint job problems because of excessive moisture.


If you do not have baseboards (yes there are houses, and especially apartments, with bare drywall to the subfloor), then I would wait 10 days to assure full cure and to give more resistance to scuffing by the cleaner.
