Question DetailsAsked on 9/2/2014

How much to put a basement under a 12X14 foot expansion on the back of my house vs. just footings and crawl space?

I want to put a room onto the back of my house and I'm trying to decide how reasonable it is to expand the basement under it also.

Assuming you mean putting a basement under it in lieu of a crawlspace, being built all at the same time, see my comments in this prior response - indicating $20-40/SF is a common cost for the basement part of new construction, assuming reasonable digging conditions -

Note also my comments on french drain and waterproofing for the basement assuming you have a free surface you can drain the french drains to - SO cheap a preventative measure if done during initial construction.
