Here is a prior question related to a 4 ton unit that might help you -

I did a quick lookup for a couple of Carrier 6 ton rooftop/remote ducted units and found motors with capacitors (which should be replaced at same time) from about $250-550, and installation typically would be 1-2 hours (barring difficult access), so that would put $400-1000 as your overal ballpark cost range - I would expect these days with HVAC service costs going up rapidly that you should expect more in the $500-700 range unless you arein a very high cost area.
