Here is a google search phrase that will bring up several blogs and threads on trhat specific subject, indicating $700-1000 is the normal total cost range (including $100-200 coil cost) unless you do it yourself, which evidently is not too hard to do -

cost to replace F150 heating coil

I know replacing it on my pickup (though a different brand), which has similar configuration and location as F150, took less than an hour and $125 for the OEM part, so $700-1000 certainly sounds like someone is making a bit of money.
