Hi! There are some great baiting options for termites out there! Dow has a completely green system that has a 100% proven colony elimination guarantee. It's called Sentricon and you can check with your local pest control companies to see if they're Authorized Operators of the system. You can read about on their website!

Hope this helps! My company, Rose Pest Solutions (, offers this system as an option for homeowners that don't want a bunch of liquid chemicals pumped into the ground on their property. We operate in the Chicagoland area. We'd be happy to help give you more info if you're in our service area!

Best Regards,

There are different versions of the Sentricon system still available.

It is pet friendly in all versions as the bait product, when present, only affects things that molt as they grow. Dogs do not molt, and therefore have very little risk due to exposure by contact or even consumption by accident.

Personally, we use the 'Always Active' version of the product. It has the bait material present at all times. This removes a margin of human error in servicing. While it only requires service once a year, many companies may service it more frequently depending on the location of the home and any previous treatment or construction issues.

Our website has excellent videos explaining the product.

Good luck.
