Question DetailsAsked on 5/26/2015

I need to have a 6-panel bedroom door replaced, painted, and hung. Not sure what category to use for small job.

I can purchase door from Lowe's and I've got the trim color name. I can't hang the door, and would rather not mess around with trying to paint it.

Well - if you are not into a DIY job, your choices are a Handyman - whose work product, if you do not know from prior work done for you, can range from great to terrible, or a Carpenter - Woodworking whose install workmanship is likely to be fine, but whose painting skills may or may not be great.

Normally you would use a Door and Window company, but most won't be interested in putting in a door you bought. To tell the truth, I think your best bet might be a door and window company and getting the door through them, tellingthem what Lowes you like - the markup will probably be about $25 or so on the door, but for a normal bedroom door the labor for painting and installing will be significantly more than the door itself anyway, so I would get from them and have them shop paint it (and trim) - with on-site touchup if needed.

Recently I have purchased Modern Interior Doors and should say, they are perfect. On their website you can find detailed interior doors installation guidelines.
