I need a 60 ft tall and 40 ft in diameter oak tree removed for free in exchange for the wood in sylmar, ca

If it is really 40 feet in diamter, instead of cutting it down you should start charging admission, because that would be the largest diameter tree in the world ! I presume you actually meant 40 feet in circumference, which still makes it a pretty large tree - presumably a multi-trunked California Live Oak, and one of if not the largest on record for that species too, if actually 40 feet.

If (when signed in) you check out several of the links below this response regarding cutting for wood, you can get some ideas - but I am guessing you will be hard pressed to find someone because live oak is not a great wood for lumber, and that big a tree is more effort to cut up and split than it is worth for firewood, so I think you are spitting into the wind expecting to get it done for free. Especially if near power lines, street, or buildings so it cannot just be free felled, but would have to be taken down piecemeal to prevent damage.
