Question DetailsAsked on 3/23/2016

I am looking for a GBC laminator repair person in or around Abilene TX

Our laminator is getting too hot too quickly. You can laminate but the laminate has waves on it and does not look nice. If we leave the laminator on and not in use the laminate will stick. So basically it's just getting too hot. Wonder if the thermostat is going out?

Here is their webpage for service support -

Usually done by a tech at or from a local commercial office supply vendor who sells and services such equipment.

From my experience with GBC laminators - gummed up rollers (clean before each significant job per instructions), wrong temperature laminate (GBC has at least 2 heats for different models, and cheapo off-brands can be too low-temp or variable temp in a roll even - we learned to stay with the quality brands - 3M or GBC), or like you say letting it heat too long before using it. Thermostats can also go bad of course.

Never leave on and not in use - turn on only when everything is ready to laminate, do it quick and cleanly, and turn off and backwind any laminate off the heated roller if you have to stop - even for a quick phone call.
