Question DetailsAsked on 8/22/2013

I'm looking for someone in Los Angeles area to remove a shower and replace it with a a new bathtub/shower.

I want to replace a shower with a bathtub shower combination. I don't know if I need a handyman or plumber. The shower needs to be removed. I'm not changing any plumbing configuration unless I simply have to.

It is unlikely you can just drop a tub into an existing shower - likely requires significant wall treatment (tile or surround) modifications and likely some drywall and flooring work as well - you probably need a general contractor specializing in kitchen and bath remodels.

I definitely do not think a handyman is the person for this, when you are dealing with wall, floor, tile or surround installation, waterproofing, and plumbing to the tune of at least several thousand $.
