Question DetailsAsked on 11/15/2017

I need two men to move 2 large couches from a basement to a U Haul truck. How can I do this inexpensively

These are are two sectional couches, one is a queen-size sofa sleeper and one is a bout 90" long with two recliners within

The couches with sectional chairs in the middle can break if moved in one piece and because of their weight are more likely to get damaged if moved intact, and a queen hide-a-bed couch can be awful heavy to carry - so both are comonly partly disassembled to move them. Also, at leat the one is awfully long, so it may need to be stood on end to get around corners - again a riuskier thing to do if left in one peice and heavy/hard to handle.

While few strong friends working for pizza and beer might do it, you might get couch damage and wall/door damage in the process, so I would recommend just biting the bullet and calling a Moving vendor (your Search the List category) - a commercial local transfer and storage company, the same type who would do the packing/unpacking for a long distance move. They can also provide the truck so that about $50 probably would partly offset their probably $150-250 charge in most areas (assuming this is just a cross-town move, not long distance). If just loading a UHaul you are going to drive a long distance, then for about same price they can do the loading - and you will have to do the same at the other end of the move, of course.
