I need my oak roll top desk restored could you point me in the right direction

Date around 1880 - 1900 is what I was is oak s cut.just want a ball park price to do the job.

I would talk to local antique furniture stores about who in town does antique refinishing - and also whether they would recommend it (take a few cell phone photos to show them) - because generally refinishing an antique ruins its value. They might also give you a very rough ballpark idea of whether this is really an antique or just an old rolltop.

I know I got a quote once on this tyope of refinishing on a large newspaper editor size rolltop that had been painted by the previous owner - estimate for a strip and refinish was right around $1000, because it basically has to be taken apart completely to do a proper strip and refinish job.
