Question DetailsAsked on 5/15/2015

I am planning to redo M/Bath and closet vanity area. About how much more expensive is it to move the toilet 8ft?

Would like to switch the shower stall to toilet area.

Would be VERY odd to have the shower anywhere but in the "back" of the bathroom, so be sure you are not doing something that will make it hard to sell. As I read you, sound like you are putting shower in mid-bathroom, which will require two new stubwalls too and will really put a major visual block in the bathroom (or use full-surround free-standing shower).

Plumbing only - depending on pipe access (i.e. if open joists below or tearing up subfloor for the remodel anyway) with plastic drain pipes probably about $500-1000. Potentially as little as $300 range IF the main stack drain runs through toilet and shower locations with adequate size, but if the toilet is being moved away from the outlet of that branch then will likely have to enlarge that branch to where the toilet will go, which can be ann issue - sometimes as much as additional $1000 above the above $ if requires reinforcing floor joists because you are having to cut through them to run the larger pipe - all depends on the piping configuration.
