Question DetailsAsked on 2/27/2018

I need someone to remove solar hot water system.

System includes 4 large copper panels and storage (3 large tanks plus heat exchanger) for 400 gallons of very hot water. System is fully automatic with no leaks. If interested you must remove entire system and leave area clean.

Some roofers might do this - at leaast for the on-roof portion - and could repair the roofing at the penetration/connection points at the same time. Other possibilities to get it done without damage (hopefully) would be a solar hot water energy installation company (might even give you something for the unit), or a commercial crane and rigging company (for the removal and dispoal only, not roof repair).

You could also call a solar heating company to see if they will remove for free, if a fairly modern and functional system.

Other possibility is haivng roof portion removed by one company, then a demolition or plumbing company come in to remove the piping in the house and the tanks. Then handyman or such to do patching and repainting of places the pipes came out.

Letting some Joe off the street do this is a VERY bad idea, in my mind - not only no insurance in even of damage to the roof/doorways/walls, but also a LOT of liability if they fall off the roof or drop a tank moving it up stairs or such - plus quite likely your homeow, ner's insurance would NOT cover any damages or liability, especially if you are getting paid anything for it.
