I have soft close kitchen cabinets and drawers. A potholder fell behind a drawer and now I can't close the drawer.

Find the release prong or latch on the drawer glide so you can pull the drawer all the way out and reach in to recover the potholder.

Sometimes you can just pull a drawer full open (the lowest one which will expose the potholder in the back) and reach in with your arm or maybe with a pair of tongs and grab the potholder.

Another tool which is useful for this is a spring-loaded flexible prong grabber tool like mechanics use - like this - useful for getting things from behind washer, dryer, range, reefer, dresser and cabients, etc too - just be careful not to contact any live wires in the process.

Pull drawer out to as far as it goes ... then under the drawer box in the two front corners there are releases that attach to the rails pull the switches and tug to release the drawer.... BTW ...these can also adjust the drawer right left up down.
