I have termite damage in a # of beams in my basement. Is sistering them ok and notching them to getaround cables

I have a number of beams in my basement that need sistering due to termite damage.. Do you sister
each side of the beam and is it okay to notch them to allow electric lines to go thru them. The current
electric line go thru a hole drilled into the beam. Would you recommend having a structural engineer check
out the damage and to plan the repair work?
