I have wood already cut up and I'm moving. Are there agencies who will haul it away for free? I live in St. Louis

Call the three closest Houses of Worship and tell church secretary,, first come first serve,,

Or could call local Boy Scout or similar group Council (especially if they have a camping facility).


Or call Firewood contractors - they might even give you a bit for it if decent wood.


However it is removed, bear in mind possibility of yard damage from truck(s) coming to collect it - and of course you always have a bit of liability risk with whoever it taking it away - physical injury or spider or snake bite, etc.


If under contract be sure to check with your Realtor first whether this is consider "personal effects" or not - in areas with heavy winter fireplace use firewood files are sometimes considered to be part of the property and are expected to be left in place for the new owner (minus normal usage before closing).
