Question DetailsAsked on 10/24/2013

If you purchase a Big Deal coupon, can it be used later (well after the offer expiration), as long as you bought it

In other words, if it says the Big Deal offer is good for only 10 more days, but you can't use it for another month (because your contractor won't be done until then), can you still use it a month later? Is it just a coupon that you can basically use anytime, as long as you purchased it before the offer expires, or does the coupon's useability expire when the offer to purchase it expires? To be clear, if I buy a Big Deal coupon who's offer to purchase expires in 10 days, do I have only those remaining 10 days to use it, or can it be used later (beyond the purchase by "X" expiration date?

There's a difference between when the deal is no longer available for purchase and the date by which the deal must be used. To see the expiration date for the deal you purchased, sign in at and go to Account - My Purchases. You can then view the deal you bought and see when the deal expires - it's generally good for several months to a year.

Thanks so much,

Why this answer doesn't help much (though I appreciate it). I can't "go to Account - My Purchases. ...(to) view the deal (I) bought and see when the deal expires," if I haven't purchased it yet. And I don't want to purchase it without FIRST knowing how long I can hold on to it before it expires! The last thing I want is to purchase a Big Deal, need to use it say six weeks down the road (well after the 10 day offer to purchase it expires) and then find out that it was only good (usable) for 4 weeks after the purchase expiration date. I want to know BEFORE I buy it, how long the coupon is good for. Thanks.

Votes you're really confusing me. After further searching this site, I found that you said the following (just one month ago) to someone else asking a similar question:

"After the date listed as Offer Expires On, the deal will no longer be valid. You will want to schedule your service before that date. Thanks so much," (KielH) According to THIS answer, I CANNOT use the coupon beyond the offer expires date. So confusing... guess I won't be buying one. Someone needs to be definitive on this issue.

I answered as I did on this question because I'm still unsure if the date you're referring to is the date that the offer to buy it expires (i.e. after this date you can no longer purchase it) or if you're referring to the date that the offer expires for use (i.e. you can no longer use the deal after this date).

On the deal page, you'll see some text that says "X days remaining" and this is how many days are left to purchase the deal. If the deal page lists a specific expiration date for the deal (some may not have an expiration date), then that's when you can no longer use it. You can always reach out to the provider directly to see if they can make an exception or to discuss the specifics of the deal.

You can also contact our call center at 1-888-944-5478, as they will be able to assist you in this matter as well. I apologize for any confusion.

Thank you for responding. The irony in all of this is that I was (by design) purposely overboard in originally asking my question, by restating it three different ways - just to avoid any confusion as to what I meant! Also, I did directly contact the company offering the Big Deal to get the straight answer (which is: No the coupon's redemption date does NOT coinside with the last day of the "X days remaining" date, i.e., it can be used well past that date, for later work. Thanks again.
