Question DetailsAsked on 9/11/2020

In the state of California, if a contractor was hired by a tenant to make repairs to your home, is the contractor

required to provide the homeowner with an invoice of renovations and costs? The tenant was making repairs for damages they made to the home. As the homeowner, I want a copy of the renovations and costs in case there are problems in the future. The tenants caused a water leak in the home that caused major damages to the property. I've asked the contractor multiple times and he has ignored my request for the invoice. In addition, I have asked to be notified when renovations are in progress so that I can check the process, but I have not been notified. They have reconstructed the house and I have not been able to see the process.
