I am having my whole A/C system changed out. Getting a 2.5 ton Trane 14 SEER with coil and 80% efficiency standard furnace. I am on the borderline of needing 2.5 - 3 tons of cooling. The whole thing including labor and tax, $4100. One contractor quoted both Trane and Rheem with a difference of only $100 between them. However, I had quotes in the mid to high 4K range and up to $6300!! Went with a contractor that offered low financing through a big box home improvement retailer.
