Is Atlas Moving & Storage one of the top rates interstate movers

I'm moving from New York to North Carolina. I need an interstate moving and storage company to pack up my apartment, move my furniture and household items into their storage facility and then 2 months later when my new home is complete in North Carolina, move me into my new residence. Is Atlas Moving and Storage considered one of the best moving companies?

The are certainly one of the major nationwide moving companies. Check ratings and reviews in the Moving category under Search the List.

You can find some recommendations on specific moving company brands in the Home > Moving link under Browse Projects,, at lower left.

In those same previous questions pay attention to the insurance issue too - because your homeowner's insurance typically does not cover your goods during the move or only minimally, and the mover's standard insurance only covers $0.60/lb per item - a pittance compared to typical replacement cost, especially for antiques and electronics and such.

You will need supplemental moving insurance (from your homeowner's company, from the moving company, or from an independent insurance broker) - and note those commonly only cover up to 30 days in temporary storage, so you will probably need a rider on the policy for more time. And consider whether you are happy with depreciated value rather than replacement value insurance.

Considering where you are moving, be sure to consider the insect-free and temperature control situation - you do not want your goods stored in a non-air conditioned warehouse or one which is readily accessible to insects or you may find them unloading moldy goods with cockroaches or fleas or ants or such.
