Below are some previous similar questions with answers FYI. In my experience (from dealing with people with these sorts of plans) any warranty plan other than from original equipment manufacturers (and some of them too) are no better than a scam - they make their money denying legitimate claims, plus commonly the type of contractor who works for them is the sort who cannot support themselves based on their reputation so they have to accept warranty subcontract work like this.

Plus there is very high incentive, because they make a lot less on these sort of calls than normal, to "upsell" or say certain necessary work items to get the job done are not covered by the warranty, so they gouge you that way. Plus even if the warranty plan was legit, you pay about twice the average repair cost in premiums over the long run paying for their overhead, advertising, profit, etc. Far better to just put away $100-200/mo (and yes that is what it costs to keep up with repairs on a house - typically about 1-2% of house value per year, on the average) or so in a "house rainy day" account to pay for repairs when needed.
