Question DetailsAsked on 8/7/2015

Is it possible to cancel a contract within 3 days of signing in ohio?

We just signed a contract yesterday with an Angie's list company. We are having misgivings about hiring the contractor based on his behavior. We have a bad feeling about it. We just noticed a couple of recent reviews of this company that makes me feel we do not wish to continue. No money has changed hands.

Some states have specific regulations - google a phrase like - home improvement contract cancellation rights California - (putting in your state's name) to find out if you have specific laws in your state - generally they apply only to home improvement contracts, but California for instance has ones relating to things such as dental work contracts too.

There is also a federal law regarding contracts signed at your home - generally including home improvment, home services, insurance, etc - that gives you a specific procedure for cancelling the contract within 3 days. Google following search phrase - first hit is CPSC info on it, other links cover subject by other providers, and also some CA and NJ and NY ones further down -
