Question DetailsAsked on 4/21/2015

Is there a reputable surveyor in the Baton Rouge area who will refuse calls from neighbors to move legal markers?

I had two markings done on an acre lot, east side neighbor pulled up the first markers & set her own at 3 am the next morning. Hired a different surveyor a year later, had it done again, spent another $500. We ran a string which she removed again. Then, she phoned my surveyor, seems her sheriff friend knew my surveyor. She moved the markers again & set her own rebar on my property. Surveyor & sheriff will not assist me. I am a single 64 old female & need it done again but need advice on who to hire that will follow the law about not talking to or accepting calls from an adjoining landowner who wants to keep moving the property line & gets the sheriffs cooperation. I have wasted $1,000. P!ease give me some direction other than going through a lawsuit

This is Kyle K from Member Care. I'm happy to help!

I looked through our database to find providers to assist you, but I'm sorry to say we don't currently have options in your area.

We like to offer members at least three options for their projects, so when this happens we are happy to offer the services of our Local Research Department. They will search outside of our database to track down some options for you. Because these providers won't be rated by members, it will be difficult to determine intangibles like reliability, price, expertise and other things that can be found on member reviews. However, we want to help you find a place to start with your project. Please allow a couple of business days for them to follow up with their findings.
