Leaky dishwasher hose even when the hot water valve is shut off?

We uninstalled our dishwasher in preparation for a new one to be put in. At the same time, we replaced our garbage disposal and the hose that connects to the air gap. We turned the hot water supply valve under our kitchen sink all the way off, but whenever we turn the faucet to the hot side accidentally, water rushes out of the dishwasher hose. It will otherwise drip every so often when we use the cold water in the sink but not much.

Is this normal? When the new dishwasher is installed, will the issue be fixed? I don’t want to ruin a new dishwasher because there is an issue with the water supply valve but I’m unsure of what to do
