Question DetailsAsked on 5/17/2012

Looking for pros & cons of having 39 yr. old hardwood floors refininished by sanding vs. sandless methods.

Moving to Newark, DE. House is 39 yrs. old & current owners of approx. 20 yrs. have area rugs. Won't know the condition of the floors until they move. Definitely need uncovered traffic areas redone (doorways). May have "picture frame" effect, although the house is pretty-well shaded. Approx. 2700 sq. ft. house w 4 bedrooms, 2 large living rooms, dining room. Deduct large kitchen, baths, stairs, upstairs hall. Wondering what customers and pros have to say about the sandless method. Which is better?

Their is NO sandless method exist for hardwood floor refinishing..
either its sanded ,stained and refinished with at least 3 coats of palyurathan finish (oil or water type base finish) (satin, sim gloss, or gloss finish)
but sandless it is not refinish of hardwood , but it is screening method, which only screen the existing palyurathan surfece and then apply new palyurathan if ONLY the existing hardwood floor in very good condition.
