Question DetailsAsked on 8/30/2017

My current attic has bathroom and kitchen, but we need to raise the ceiling and add a 2nd exit staircase. Estimate?

The attic has been renovated but is not livable due to the requirements of the height and 2nd exit needed. How much would be cost?

Many tens of thousands typically - a couple of tens for the raised roof commonly (for normla size house), several more for the remodel - commonly in the $50,000 range give or take, though can vary a lot depending on whether raising the entire roof or only part (like dormering it) or what. An Architect can develop conceptual plans and a rough conceptual cost estimate for you.

Note on second exit - in most areas (assuming non-commerical use) just a legal egress window onto an adjacent lower level roof or with an emergency throw-out ladder meets that requirement.
