NEED A HOUSE FOUNDATION REPAIRED. SHOULD I GET A CONTRACTOR ?

That depends on how bad it is. If it is really bad, you may need an engineered fix for the foundation by a structural engineer. You may also need to have a geotechnical engineer look at the soils to determine if there are soil issues. You don't want to just put a band aid on without taking care of the underlying problem.

Linda, don't forget to check Angie's List for member reviews and ratings of contractors in your area. Also, we always suggest getting detailed estimates for the job so that you can see an apples-to-apples
comparison of the work you're requesting done. Ask them to include the types of
materials they'll be using.
