Need boiler controls adjustment and/or relay replacement on gas boiler

Pilot does not stay on. If pilot button hold in furnace will not start from thermostat. As long as relay is held in manually with pilot button held in manually then furnace will stay on. Unit may need some relay adjustment or replacements. Furnach from 1959 model WEIL-MCLAN. What will be the cost to inspect the problem or getting an repair estimate?

Hard to tell from description, and I am not familiar with your model furnace and, not surprisingly, could not readily find a wiring sheet on it online.

Could be several things - crimped line to pilot, debris in the pilot jet, dirt in the gas controller valve, thermocouple needs replacing.

I don't think the problem is electrical - since the pilot does not stay lit, the furnace should NOT fire, but I don't know if your model shuts off the pilot gas if the thermocouple has failed. If it were my furnace, I would replace the thermocouple and clean the pilot jet first, then see where it lead from there.

Service visit to diagnose and replace thermocouple, clean burners and jet (normal seanonal servicing) usually about $75-150, depending on local labor costs and whether you catch a seasonal special or not. IF needs more than that, then estimate should cost nothing more.
