Plastic drain stick snake broke in drain....how worried should I be?

I used one of those plastic drain sticks to remove hair from second floor shower drain. Hair came out but a portion - maybe 4" worth - of the stick broke. Tried to get it out but it went down drain. Water has been draining fine for about a day so part of me thinks (hopes) the piece flushed through the plumbing but I'm also worried that it could get lodged in somewhere and case a backup later....how worried should I be??
