I think maybe I can give you a couple of thoughts on the pricing that was paid. First, the cleaning company should have given you a price based on what was involved in the initial cleaning before work was begun. If you agreed to the price, then it was indeed fair. Second, just in general, it sounds a little high, unless there was a lot of work to get the house to a point where regular cleaning maintenance could be performed.

That said, I have a handyman business, and I charge $175.00 after performing a make-ready to deep clean a house or apartment after a tenant leaves. That price covers everything except windows, which I don't do, but includes the oven, stove, microwave, refirgerator, floors, cabinets, bathrooms and a few minor things like thresholds if they are muddy or something like that. Of course, the house is always empty and I have a process for going through to get it cleaned quickly. I am in and out in one day or a little less.

It does not sound completely out of the ballpark to me, but I might ask if you got the price after they looked over the house and before you agreed to it.

Hope that helps a little.

Hi live in the SB mountains, been a house cleaner for 13 years, have estimated different prices through out my years. but always gave a hourly ranged price, estimated cost and agreement to check with cleint if it was going to be alot more, sometime a house doesn't look to dirty until the clean process begins. alway check with the person that is doing work for you at the begin and middle and end. sometime i will go with the price i gave the cleint and suggest areas to be broken up with in the maintaince time so i can stay close to my bid. it really take close to 3 time to get a home perfectly clean, $ 80.00 is good for a 2000qu foot house but depending on how dirty it get and how meny people live in the home sometime a home is real busy with dust or just use of people
