Re-finishing 1st floor with new gas & HVaC system. How can we temporarily heat 2nd floor before future dormer?

We will be renovating the first floor of our home including converting to gas and installing new HVAC system (forced air). The house currently heats on oil and the 2nd floor has baseboard heat. We will be dormering the 2nd floor next year. How can we heat the 2nd floor this winter without having to run the oil burner along with the new burner, alongside avoiding extra unnecessary work and disturbance of the newly finished first floor?

Three ways I see without getting too complicated or spending a fortune on electric heat

1) keep the oil unit going through this winter - that is the simplest and least disruptive

2) have them install ducting to second floor now as most of that is going to be run through the second floor flooring anyway, if that is not going to be disturbed by the dormering

3) or run temporary ducts to the second floor (either exposed along a wall for the main duct or even in an insulated temporary plenum on the outside wall) for now - could run a central duct to the second floor, then come off with flexible ducting in the attic for this winter to needed distribution areas

I hate to say it, but you will likely find out you should have done the dormering first, if you mean lifting the roof to make a full-size living space out of an attic rather than just adding small dormers.
