Replace a Trane air handler evaporator coil or purchase new system???

Air handler evaporator coil is in poor shape (rusted and corroded) and air handler was leaking water end of last summer. System is 24 years old and is a Trane XL 12.

Sorry - unit is XL 1200

24 yers old, time to replace, in my opinion. Many brands wouldn't even have a coil for a unit that old.


Most folks , here in Florida replace at 12 to 15 years old.
