Rubber boots vs Lead boots - Cost - New roof (insurance)

We should be getting a new roof soon paid for by insurance due to hail damage. Roofer says we can upgrade to lead boots at $40 per, whereas rubber boots/labor are included and paid for by insurance. Is this a good price for doing the upgrade and is it worth it? Should we be getting a discount due to insurance paying for rubber boots and the associated labor installation?

Should I just buy $20 big box store lead boots and ask him to install them and bill insurance for the labor? We have 10 vents/pipes that need to be re-booted for the new roof installation ($200 vs. $400).

Note: We have a lot of squirrels on our property but they seem to stay away from the house. They have plenty of trees around the house (30-40 ft away) to live in. I have never found them in the attic or seen them on the roof.

Thank you!!
