Question DetailsAsked on 2/26/2020

Should my attic be conditioned? Already same insulation as the rest of the house.

My home has cathedral ceilings with fiberboard insulation throughout. The attic was constructed at some point with a flat drywall ceiling in part of the house. This attic houses the AC system. Should this space be sealed and conditioned? It currently has soffit vents to the outside, and I'm concerned about my flexible AC ducting in that space. If the insulation in the ceiling of that space is identical to the rest of the open house, shouldn't it be sufficient to seal the soffits and give it a little conditioning? Central Louisiana. Thanks in advance.
