Shuld i remove an unused exterior brick chimney on a cape cod 1950s era home. Red brick chimney adds character.

IF it is in good shape (a hundred $ or so inspection by a Chimney Sweep should clarify that for you), I don't see why you would spend a couple to few thousand $ to remove it and rebuild the walls and put on siding on such where it was, without a specific reason to do so.
