Snakes in the HOUSE!

Not making this up. Three snakes in the garage over the weekend (tightly sealed space) and now one last night on the second floor inside. Didn't have to kill anyone (yet) but last night's was dangerously close to my bedroom. Oh yeah, didn't sleep too well last night..(understatement here). Carrying my putter around all morning and slept with the lights on last night. Very few exterminators deal with snakes. Any referrals? Any advice? Anyone with a spare valium?

Different kinds of snakes and different areas of the country will lead to different ways to minimize your exposure. How about a tad bit of additional information like how old is your home and where do you live? Are you near natural habitats like water or woods or an area that was a habitat until man decided to take it over?

Since this board now serves as a ready pool of comedic matter for idle minds, consider this:

if you have snakes, you likely do not have micea friend of mine tried for nearly three years to resolve a snake problem in her home. Finally found the solution in a good divorce attorney.

Tell us more and don't forget to rap your shoes/boots on the floor and turn them upside down before putting them on in the morning.

"Didn't have to kill anyone (yet) but last night's was dangerously close to my bedroom."

After reading OG's response which caused me to chortle, choke and sputter, I'm slowly catching my breath....[:)]. About those snakes - they're probably seeking relief from excessive water or heat. If you call your local animal control shelter agency they should send out a snake wrangler. Snakes are benefical and should be relocated to more suitable habitat.
