I would say give up on it - I have never seen a barn tight enough to keep bats out, unless you are prepared to put out poison bait for them, which is illegal in most areas. There are repellent sprays you can use that some say work, you can hang strong soaps or strong car air fresheners or pot pourri type smells or bags of mothballs in the roosting area that might repel them, and putting bird/bat netting covering their favorite hanging spots and entrances can help, but it is unlikely you will keep them away from a barn unless you keep bright lights shining up into the eaves and loft and rafters all night, which is costly.

One-time removal cost probably about $150-250, but they will be back the next night.

About the only thing that appear to work, from blogs and such, is building bat roosts on poles or trees nearby that are more desireable - but if you live in a wintry area, that is highly unlikely, as the barn will be warmer if heated or it has animals in it.
