Question DetailsAsked on 6/24/2016

Trane evaporator coil model number and cost - airhandler model number is twh024b140a1 and serial# l13335611

The local Trane dealers are not very helpful in answering this question. Mine is a Trane XE 1000 unit with the airhandler in the attic. The only model number I have is for the air handler, other labels have worn off. I want to replace the evaporator coil and recharge R22 freon. trying to find out model number, cost of parts and labor.

I would pull all the numbers/nameplate info I could find (photos best if readable) and send with photos of the unit to Trane and see if they can give you the correct part number.

Or just call a couple of Heating and A/C contractors for bids and let THEM figure out the correct unit size.

Here is a link to another answer I did to a similar question today FYI - addressing typical evaporator replacement cost (though you could have additional cost if your freon has all leaked out), and also the issue of when sinking money into repairing an old unit no longer makes sense, versus buying a new one :
