Unusual Job in Chicago Area North

I have a rotten crawlspace access door. It is made out of steel and it's corroded after 40 years. Bilco is the company that manufactures replacement doors. The door replacement seems pretty easy but I don't want to do it because it requires some experience. The door sits on a concrete footing. My footing may need work. I can buy the door at Lowes and have it delivered but I will need someone to measure and install the new door. I've searched high and low for anyone who has some experience with this work. Any suggestions are welcome. I'll need someone to haul away the old door. It probably weighs 50lbs

Hi Ranetek,

I would recommend you check Angie's List under the "Doors" and/or "Handyman" categories. You can view the profiles of service providers in those categories to see who might do the type of work you're inquiring about. We recommend you always contact at least three different companies for estimates. You can also contact Angie's List at 888-944-5478 and one of our neighborhood specialists can assist you with finding a service provider that meets your criteria.

I hope this helps.
