Assuming you mean it will wash OK but thinks the lid is open so will not spin, then cost of switch is about $30 list - about 10-15 minutes to install when I did it, so probably minimum service call charge of typically $50-100, so total probably about $100 give or take. Be sure to check spin cycle in all the different wash cycles (permanent press, delicate, etc) - if only fails to spin in one of the settings then problem is in the main timer switch not the lid switch, which will bump your cost up to the $150-200 range if mechanical (dial) timer, possibly much more if electronic model - some electronic models the main board costs several hundred dollars plus $100 - 200 diagnosis and repair cost, commonly including two visits - one to diagnose, one to put in board after it comes (usually not stocked) so in that case commonly better to replace washer, especially if on older side.

When you call be prepared to tell Appliance Repair contractor the make and model number from metal/plastic manufacturer plate - sometimes on back of machine, sometimes on a plate on underside of lid or on frame and visible with lid open. Do NOT tell him the lid switch is bad - tell him the symptoms, and let him figure out what parts to bring.
