What do you think of Lowe's for installing Pella windows? They bid much lower than the Pella store.

I am replacing old, single pane windows with casement Pella's.

try OKNA windows at www.oknawindows.com When shopping for windows , compare the u-values, the lower the u-value ,the lower your heating costs will be. Also compare the SHGC this number shows the windows ability to help keep you a/c costs down , also the lower the shgc number is the lower your a/c use wil be. In New York ? call for a free demo/ estimate 1-718-863- 5278. besides checking reviews at Angies list you can also look at consumers complaint history at the Better Business Bearue . Check www.bbb.com

With a box store install you have the advantage of knowing the seller will be around for complaints, and has reason to try to stand by its warranty. On the down side, they usually contract with the cheapest installers you find, so installation quality control problems are much more frequent, from what I hear.

I would Search the List for comments on not only Lowe's, but also the name of the installer they intend to use.
