What is the absolute best type of carpet pad and carpet to curtail noise between an upper and lower floor of an old wooden-floored building

Their is no carpt or padding that can cutail noise between levells of floors.
but,after you remove the old existing carpet or what ever existing floor you have ,is to REINFORCE the floor or subfloorb .
1-by using long screws (rescew the plywood to the joices and studs ).
2- befor you install the new carpet padding,you can buy rolls of padding used for reduceing the noise (it is padding used for laminet floorings )
3- best method is to remove existing plywood ,fix all problems that cause the noise then reinstall old plywood if it is in good condition or new plywood.
