What would be an appropriate cost to re-balance a front load washer.

LG washer apprx 8yrs old minimal to mild usage

I did not know there was any balance weights on the tub - that would be unusual, because vertical tub washers have a dynamic balancer built into the spindle, if any at all. Usually you just balance the load if it starts thumping.



Looking on the web, there are a lot of comments about LG front-loaders getting out of balance easily because the front seal is worn or damaged, which removes much of the front support on the drum and lets it wobble - same as front seal going out on a dryer - so that might be your problem. Cost probably about $200-250.



If you mean the whole washer rocks, check your manual on how to relevel the feet - usually just a tilt a certain way and the feet readjust themselves, but sometimes takes a wrench on the feet toturn them in or out to raise or lower. For an appliance repairman to do this (which is really overkill) minimum service charge of about $70-125.
